This study, incorporating the results of a research project conducted over the past 10 years (selected for the "Academic Frontier" Promotion Project by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology for the two consecutive terms from 1998 to 2007) with narrowed research focus points, aims to grasp the crisis of the mind of contemporary man and to establish a network to realize practical solutions by making the best use of this Institute’s distinctive feature, the collaboration between clinical psychology and human sciences. With 4 projects as the pillars of this research, we shall pursue studies related to the respective projects in a parallel manner for 5 years. The projects comprise (1) the Perpetrator-Victim relationship, (2) the rearing relationship, and (3) the science of art and art therapy, which stand side by side, and (4) the current status of psychotherapy, which involves all three respective projects. Each of these projects has become an urgent task in clinical practice, thus we shall tackle those problematic fields for which the Institute expects a further increase in importance in the future.

Based on team meetings, we shall hold public symposiums and study meetings, and conduct research by survey in line with the 4 projects and publish the results. In addition, we plan to conduct practical activities based on psychotherapy as well as small-scale study meetings and training sessions.
