History
The Konan Institute of Human Sciences was established on November 1, 2002. Having taken over the system and results of a joint research project (from 1998 to 2002) supported by the "Academic Frontier" Promotion Project of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology, it was established with the aim to pursue studies on a more permanent basis.
After becoming an independent research institute, the Institute has been capable of both clinical practices based in the Counseling Center and of advancing research in collaboration with those people involved in research and education at Konan University Graduate School of Humanities.
While Konan Institute of Human Sciences falls within the vast academic field referred to as “Human Science”, we have narrowed down the major themes to “The Crisis of the Mind of Contemporary Man” in order to focus on a number of problems experienced within society from many different angles.
Network
In conducting symposiums, study meetings, and research activities, including publishing of work, and clinical practices, the Konan Institute of Human Sciences shall continue building networks with other research institutes including other universities, medical, welfare and educational institutions, community-oriented non profit organizations, and others.
